National Prayer Initiatives are coordinated Prayer Union efforts that bring together individuals, churches, Prayer Unions, prayer leaders and communities to seek God together concerning the needs, challenges and future of the nation.

We believe prayer can unite people across churches, communities, generations and regions around a shared commitment to seek God and intercede for the nation.

What Are National Prayer Initiatives?

A National Prayer Initiative is a coordinated prayer campaign or gathering designed to mobilize people across the nation around a specific prayer focus or season.

It may involve:

  • Prayer Unions
  • Churches
  • Prayer groups
  • Prayer leaders
  • Families
  • Young people
  • Communities
  • Christian organizations
  • Individual believers

The initiative may take place over:

One day

A weekend

A week

A month

or an extended season of coordinated prayer.

Why Pray for the Nation?

Scripture calls God’s people to pray for their communities and those in positions of responsibility.
