Prayer Union is built upon a deep conviction that prayer must be grounded in Scripture, expressed through faith, strengthened by unity and sustained by faithful action.
Our values shape who we are, how we serve, how we relate to one another and how we carry the Prayer Union vision from one generation to the next.
1. BIBLICAL FAITHFULNESS
We are grounded in the Word of God.
We believe prayer must be rooted in Scripture and guided by the character, purposes and promises of God.
The Bible shapes our understanding of prayer, leadership, relationships, service and mission.
We seek to ensure that what we teach, practice and promote remains faithful to biblical truth.
2. PRAYER
Prayer is our foundation and way of life.
Prayer is at the heart of Prayer Union.
We believe believers are called to seek God individually and collectively, bringing before Him the needs of families, churches, communities and nations.
We therefore seek to cultivate a culture in which prayer is not an occasional activity, but a way of life.
We pray because we believe God hears, responds and acts.
3. UNITY
We are stronger when we pray together.
Prayer Union seeks to bring believers together around the shared call to seek God.
We value fellowship, cooperation, mutual respect and unity among believers, churches, prayer groups and communities.
We recognize that there may be differences among Christian traditions, but we seek to build upon what unites us: our faith in God and our commitment to prayer.
4. PERSISTENCE
We do not give up in prayer.
We believe prevailing prayer requires perseverance.
There are times when answers do not come immediately and circumstances may appear unchanged. In those moments, we remain faithful.
We continue to watch.
We continue to intercede.
We continue to trust God.
We pray. We persevere. We prevail.
5. HOLINESS
We seek to live what we pray.
Prayer and character must go together.
We encourage believers to pursue holiness, repentance, integrity, humility and obedience to God.
Our desire is that our private lives, public conduct and relationships reflect the God whom we seek in prayer.
6. INTERCESSION
We carry the burdens of others before God.
We believe prayer extends beyond our personal needs.
We are called to stand in the gap for others—to pray for families, churches, communities, leaders, nations and those who may never know that someone is interceding for them.
Intercession requires compassion, faithfulness and a willingness to carry spiritual burdens.
We stand in the gap.
7. GENERATIONAL LEGACY
We pass the prayer heritage to the next generation.
We believe every generation has a responsibility to teach and equip the next generation.
Prayer Union seeks to create opportunities for generations to pray, learn, serve and lead together.
We want young people to encounter prayer as a living relationship with God—not simply inherit it as a tradition.

8. SERVANT LEADERSHIP
We lead by serving.
We believe leadership is a responsibility entrusted to us for the benefit of others.
Prayer Union leaders are called to lead with humility, integrity, wisdom and faithfulness.
We value leaders who pray first, listen carefully, serve willingly, develop others and lead by example.
Position does not define leadership. Service does.
9. EXCELLENCE
We honor God through faithful stewardship.
Whether organizing a prayer gathering, training leaders, conducting a seminar or managing ministry resources, we seek to do our work responsibly and well.
Excellence means preparation, reliability, accountability, good stewardship and a willingness to continually improve.
We pursue excellence not for recognition, but because what we do is ultimately an offering of service to God and His people.
10. MISSION
Prayer moves us toward God’s purposes.
We believe prayer is not an escape from responsibility.
Prayer prepares and mobilizes God’s people to participate in God’s purposes in the world.
Therefore, we seek to connect prayer with service, discipleship, leadership development, evangelism and mission.
Our prayer is that what begins at the altar will produce faithful action beyond the altar.
