LAUNCH VISION & MANDATE

From the Altar to Every Community — From Uasin Gishu to the Nations

1. THE LAUNCH VISION

The launch of Prayer Union – Uasin Gishu County is a call to establish a united prayer movement that brings believers, churches, prayer leaders, families, young people, and communities together around the altar of prayer.

The vision is to see Uasin Gishu County become a praying county, where prayer is not confined to church buildings but becomes a living expression throughout homes, schools, workplaces, marketplaces, villages, towns, institutions, and communities.

Prayer Union – Uasin Gishu seeks to recover the altar, build the watch, carry the burden, and take prayer into mission—raising a generation that knows how to pray, discern the purposes of God, stand in the gap, and translate prayer into compassionate action.

The central cry is:

“Let the altar be restored, the watchmen arise, and every community become a place of prayer.”

2. THE COUNTY MANDATE

Prayer Union – Uasin Gishu County carries a mandate to:

Recover the Altar

Call individuals, families, churches, and communities back to consistent prayer, worship, repentance, and devotion to God.

Build the Watch

Raise and connect prayer watches throughout Uasin Gishu County, establishing people who will faithfully stand in prayer for their families, churches, communities, county, nation, and the nations.

Carry the Burden

Teach believers to pray beyond personal needs—to discern and carry the spiritual, social, generational, and community burdens that require intercession.

Take Prayer into Mission

Move prayer from the prayer room into practical engagement with communities through evangelism, compassion, reconciliation, youth engagement, family strengthening, and community transformation.

3. A COUNTY-WIDE PRAYER ALTAR

The launch will seek to establish a network of prayer across Uasin Gishu County.

Prayer Union will work toward connecting:

Local churches and ministries
Pastors and church leaders
Intercessors and prayer leaders
Families and households
Youth and students
Women and men of prayer
Marketplace and professional communities
Rural and urban communities
Schools and institutions
Christian fellowships and networks

The objective is not to create another competing church structure, but to connect the prayer strength already present in the Body of Christ and help it function together around a shared prayer burden.

4. THE VISION FOR UASIN GISHU

We envision a county where:

Every church has a prayer altar.

Every community has people watching in prayer.

Every family is encouraged to pray.

Young people are discipled as intercessors and kingdom leaders.

Pastors and prayer leaders stand together rather than separately.

Prayer produces mission.

Mission produces transformation.

Transformation points people back to Christ.

The ultimate goal is not merely to have prayer meetings, but to cultivate a praying culture that produces a witnessing, serving, reconciled, and spiritually awakened county.

5. THE HOSANNA MINISTRY CYCLE

Prayer Union – Uasin Gishu will operate around a simple ministry cycle:

ALTAR → WATCH → BURDEN → MISSION → TRANSFORMATION

1. ALTAR

Return to God through prayer, worship, repentance, and consecration.

2. WATCH

Establish faithful prayer watches that remain spiritually alert and consistent.

3. BURDEN

Discern what God is highlighting and carry those matters faithfully in intercession.

4. MISSION

Allow prayer to send people into practical kingdom mission and service.

5. TRANSFORMATION

Expect prayer and mission to bring spiritual renewal, reconciliation, strengthened families, restored communities, and people turning to Christ.

Then the cycle returns to the ALTAR.

6. THE COUNTY PRAYER WATCH

A major expression of the launch will be the establishment of a Uasin Gishu County Prayer Watch.

This will connect prayer groups and intercessors across the county into a coordinated rhythm of prayer.

The watch can focus on:

Spiritual awakening
Churches and Christian leaders
Families and marriages
Children and young people
Schools and students
Community peace and reconciliation
Economic and marketplace concerns
Vulnerable people and families
Evangelism and discipleship
National leadership and governance
Kenya and the nations

The emphasis will be on faithfulness rather than performance—creating sustainable prayer rhythms that can continue beyond the launch.

7. FROM TOWN TO VILLAGE

The vision must reach beyond major centres.

Prayer Union – Uasin Gishu will seek to develop a town-to-village prayer network, ensuring that the prayer movement reaches communities throughout the county.

The pattern will be:

County → Sub-County → Ward → Community → Church → Home

The prayer altar therefore becomes increasingly local.

The goal is that someone, somewhere, is praying in every community.

8. YOUTH AND THE NEXT GENERATION

A significant part of the launch vision is to entrust the prayer burden to the next generation.

Young people should not merely be spectators at prayer gatherings. They should become:

Intercessors
Worshippers
Evangelists
Disciple-makers
Prayer mobilizers
Community servants
Future leaders

The movement will intentionally create opportunities for young people to encounter God, learn Scripture, develop a life of prayer, and discover their role in God’s mission.

Where there is prayer for the lost, there should be evangelism.

10. UNITY ACROSS THE BODY OF CHRIST

The launch should provide a platform where different churches and Christian traditions can come together around the common ground of Jesus Christ, Scripture, prayer, worship, and mission.

Prayer Union will seek to honour the distinct identities of churches while building bridges of prayer between them.

Not one church replacing another, but many churches standing together before God.

11. THE LAUNCH GATHERING

The launch gathering should be more than an organizational event.

It should be conceived as a county prayer convocation.

13. THE LONG-TERM PICTURE

The launch is only the beginning.

The long-term vision is to see Prayer Union – Uasin Gishu County develop into a sustainable prayer and mission network that continually multiplies prayer communities.

YEAR 1 — ESTABLISH

Build the county prayer leadership, launch prayer watches, connect churches, and establish community prayer points.

YEAR 2 — MULTIPLY

Expand from churches and prayer groups into wards, communities, schools, families, and workplaces.

YEAR 3 — MOBILIZE

Develop county-wide prayer and mission initiatives and raise a new generation of prayer leaders.

BEYOND — SEND

Release trained prayer leaders and missionaries to strengthen prayer movements beyond Uasin Gishu, across Kenya, and into the nations.

14. THE FOUNDATIONAL PRINCIPLE

The strength of Prayer Union – Uasin Gishu will not ultimately be measured by the size of its launch gathering.

It will be measured by what remains after the gathering.

The true measure will be:

How many altars were established?

How many watches were built?

How many people learned to pray?

How many churches became connected in prayer?

How many young people were raised?

How many communities were reached?

How many people were sent into mission?

How faithfully did the county continue to seek God?
